How to Choose a Sheet Metal Laser Cutter

Six decisions, in the order that avoids rework. Each one ends with what to send us so the quotation matches your shop.

1. Start from the sheet, not the machine

Write down your largest sheet or plate, short side first. Every model has a working format: 1550 × 3050 mm on the WT-1530 and WT-3015S, 2050 × 4050 mm on the WT-4020, 2550 × 6050 mm on the WT-6025 and 2550 × 12050 mm on the WT-12025.

If the sheet fits, keep the model. If it does not, the choice has already been made for you. The bed size guide draws the formats to scale.

2. Power is a range, not a rating

The WT-1530, WT-4020 and WT-3015S are offered from 3,000 to 12,000 W. The WT-6025 and WT-12025 are offered from 6,000 to 30,000 W. If you expect to need more than 12 kW, those two are the only sheet machines in this range.

Which source and which power suit your materials depends on what you cut and how thick. We do not print a thickness figure per model; give us the material and thickness and we confirm it in the quote.

3. Open or fully enclosed

An open frame leaves the cutting area uncovered; a fully enclosed machine puts the cutting area inside a cabinet. The WT-1530 and WT-4020 are open. The WT-6025, WT-3015S and WT-12025 are fully enclosed.

4. One table or an exchange table

With one table, the machine waits while you unload and load. With an exchange table, a second platform is loaded while the first sheet is cut. The WT-4020 and WT-6025 have exchange tables. The WT-1530 has one table, and the WT-3015S has a single table that pulls out for loading.

5. Loading by hand, or by a system

An exchange table is not automation. For automatic loading and unloading WISECUT describes a system with a gantry loader, a double-layer electric exchange cart, a CNC and a vacuum system. See the auto feeder page for what is and is not specified.

6. What to send us

  • Largest sheet or plate: short side × long side
  • Material types and the thickness range you cut
  • Power you expect to need, if you know it
  • Open or enclosed, one table or exchange table
  • Whether you want automatic loading and unloading
  • Workshop power supply and floor space
  • Drawings of typical parts, if you can share them

Send it through the quote form, or ask for free proofing of one part first.
